ABEY CORROSION RESISTANT STAINLESS STEEL BRICK TIES
100% PROTECTION IN ALL LOCATIONS – DON”T BE FOOLED BY CHEAP IMPORTS
Brick layers – If you’re building within 10k of a surf coast or 1k from sheltered coast ‘YOU MUST’ use 316 Stainless Steel brick ties. ‘NOT’ Gal, Not red gal especially those dodgy imports.
Masonry construction highly corrosive to metallic masonry anchors and can be further heightened with long term exposure to corrosive environments such as salt or moisture. Choosing the right brick tie is imperative to the safety and longevity of your construction. As a general rule the closer the construction to the sea, the more corrosive the environment and the greater the level of corrosion resistance masonry ties need to provide. Construction within coastal areas should incorporate corrosion resistant stainless steel ties for maximum effectiveness, in order to avoid hidden damage to brick walls. Abey designers were the first to produce a range of products in stainless steel. Abey ties are Australian Made, they are a lighter, stronger, better quality, longer lasting and competitively priced stainless steel product that meets all current building standards.
Abey recommend that Brick Ties be selected in accordance with AS3700 & AS2699. Selection is based on the distance from the coast and whether it’s a sheltered bay or open ocean.
The Durability Exposure Map (right) represents an indication of corrosion zones within a coastal environment. As a general rule the closer the dwelling is located to the sea the more corrosive the environment and the greater the level of corrosion resistance, masonry anchors need to provide.
Abey’s steel ties cover durability exposure classification R2, R3 and R4. Grade 304L stainless steel ties cover R3. 316L stainless steel ties cover R4. Other corrosive environments such as alpine or heavy industrial areas should also be considered as R4 environments. Abey recommend SS316L Marine Grade Brick Ties in high corrosion zone areas.

The Importance of
Buying Aussie Made
Buying Aussie Made products supports our manufacturing sector and Australian jobs. It also controls product quality and the longevity and structural integrity of constructed dwellings. Australian manufacturers are held accountable, governed by strict laws and building codes, unlike imported products. They neither support the industries they sell to nor employ Australians. Most importantly, some of the products brought into our country do not conform to our building laws, are of dubious quality, and can have unsafe, long-term effects on construction projects, without retribution to the original manufacturer. Best of all Abey manufactured products are built to last and cost around the same as those cheap imports.
Insist on quality Australian made Abey Stainless Steel brick ties.
